  • Welcome to St. John’s Nursery

A warm and welcoming atmosphere awaits your child. There is a wide range of excellent resources; well-planned activities and scope for adventurous and imaginative play both indoors and outdoors.

We hope that your child will enjoy coming here as we want to make his/her first experience of school a happy one. Our website will tell you a little about what happens at nursery school and what you can do to help your child make the most of his/her time with us.

Our nursery aims to provide a caring, stimulating and safe environment where children are happy, feel secure and become confident, independent individuals who are nurtured to reach their full potential.

  • The Local Community’s Nursery

St John’s Nursery has operated from St John’s Hall Church Hall in Palmers Green for over 50 years and has been enjoyed by generations of families within the local residential area. The nursery is ideally located with easy access to local community schools, libraries, transport and shops

We work with children between the ages of 2 and 5 years old and their families, developing good relationships between the staff, children and parents to support the children’s development and learning. We believe this is key to keeping the children safe and cared for whilst ensuring that they achieve the most that they can.

  • Activities & Facilities

We offer a stimulating environment for children, as we believe that they learn the most through play

Play is extremely important to young children. At St. John’s we utilise the full extent of our two halls and an outdoor area to provide them with engaging activities which develop essential skills that they will need as they grow older.

We provide a wide range of play activities which enable the children to learn and develop through talking and doing, to reach their goals. In some of these activities children decide how they will use the activity whilst in others the adults will lead. Our daily routine allows for play and learning activities to be structured to keep children enthused, stimulated and engaged.

  • Opening Times

    Our standard opening times are:
    9am to 3pm
    Monday to Friday

These hours are flexible in order to meet families’ different needs.

We have children funded under the 15 and 30 hours funding schemes.

    • This place means so much to me 💗. I found it totally by chance and my son spent almost 2 years there. He was a child with a speech delay -english as a second language, he had real hard time to blend in. But, the way they took care of him and the time they spent with him made him into a self-confident, social, happy boy! Kathy is an outstanding person with a calm, caring and loving personality. And in line with this, they have great keyworkers. Special thanks to Natasha, Lee-Ann and Patricia.

If you are looking for a decent, caring place with full of smiling keyworkers, this is the place!

    • My son found it difficult at the beginning, but the staff helped him to settle in. He then enjoyed going to nursery and looked forward to going. The nursery is very flexible and understanding. All the staff looked after him. We’re very happy we chose this nursery.

    • As a childminder, I have been taking children I look after for sixteen years or so to St John’s Nursery. Children always look forward to going to nursery at St John’s. I have no hesitation in recommending St John’s Nursery – in fact I even recommended it to my daughter who now sends her daughter here. Children enjoy the varied learning activities there and the very friendly and welcoming setting.

    • My two-year-old daughter Paula enjoys going St John’s Nursery and had made lots of friends since she started. She has gained a huge amount of confidents and independents and I can’t thank all the staff enough for settling her in to nursery life and for all they have done for her since she started at St John’s Nursery. All the staff are passionate about the job that they do and give wonderful care of all the children in the nursery.
