Welcome to St. John’s Nursery
A warm and welcoming atmosphere awaits your child. There is a wide range of excellent resources; well-planned activities and scope for adventurous and imaginative play both indoors and outdoors.
We hope that your child will enjoy coming here as we want to make his/her first experience of school a happy one. Our website will tell you a little about what happens at nursery school and what you can do to help your child make the most of his/her time with us.
Our nursery aims to provide a caring, stimulating and safe environment where children are happy, feel secure and become confident, independent individuals who are nurtured to reach their full potential.
The Local Community’s Nursery
St John’s Nursery has operated from St John’s Hall Church Hall in Palmers Green for over 50 years and has been enjoyed by generations of families within the local residential area. The nursery is ideally located with easy access to local community schools, libraries, transport and shops
We work with children between the ages of 2 and 5 years old and their families, developing good relationships between the staff, children and parents to support the children’s development and learning. We believe this is key to keeping the children safe and cared for whilst ensuring that they achieve the most that they can.
Our standard opening times are:
9am to 3pm
Monday to Friday
These hours are flexible in order to meet families’ different needs.
We have children funded under the 15 and 30 hours funding schemes.
We are based at St. John’s Church Hall on Bourne Hill in Palmers Green. Find us – view map.
Entrance is down the side of the building via the 3rd door by ringing the bell for the ‘small hall’.
St. John’s Nursery is supported by the London Borough of Enfield and regulated by OFSTED. In our December 2014 inspection we were judged as ‘Good’.
We also use ‘Learning Book’ for our children’s records of achievement so that parents can monitor and interact with their child’s development.
Healthy Food & Drink
Parents are required to provide a piece of fruit or vegetable each day.
We provide 1/3 of a pint of milk or water for every child in a session.
Children attending for lunch and afternoon sessions should bring their own lunch in a named lunch box.
