About St. John's Nursery

History, Standards & The Team
  • Palmers Green's Local Nursery

St John's Nursery has operated from St John’s Hall Church Hall in Palmers Green for over 50 years and has been enjoyed by generations of families within the local residential area.

The nursery is ideally located with easy access to local community schools, libraries, transport and shops
We provide care and education for young children between the ages of 2 and 5 years old. Our nursery offers a range of activities within the extensive facilities. Our two halls and an outdoor area enable young children to experience a full range of activities with the aim of enriching and enhancing their development in a safe enclosed environment with professional supervision.

  • Quality Care

Supported the London Borough of Enfield and audited by OFSTED

St. John’s Nursery is supported by the Local Authority, the London Borough of Enfield. We are also audited and regulated by OFSTED (Office for Standards in Education) for the quality of our service.

We had our Ofsted inspection in December 2014 and we were judged as ‘GOOD.’ The inspection checks both the quality of care provided at the nursery and the educational content of what we offer young children at the nursery.

  • Our Aims

  • Develop a positive learning environment by providing good resources/materials.

Acknowledge parents in their role as children’s prime educators and seek to promote a partnership with them that develops a shared understanding with mutual respect and dialogue.

To create an atmosphere where every child feels secure, valued and confident.

  • To ensure that our sessions and activities cater for our children’s individual needs and interests.

To provide activities that are appropriate and ensure that children acquire the necessary skills, concepts and attitudes that form part of the Early Years Foundation Stage (link to curriculum page).

Pay high regard to health and safety to meet the needs of young children with appropriate space, facilities and equipment.

  • Monitor, assess and keep records of skills and progression.

Ensure no child is excluded or disadvantaged because of their race, culture or religion, home language, family background, special educational needs, disability, gender or ability. Our policy is that all children should feel included, secure and valued.
